Hurricane Shutter Install & Removal
We service homes in the greater Tampa Bay area. Removal Pricing Based on Our Installation. If your shutters cover more than one window, pricing is still based per individual window. See the "WINDOW EXAMPLES" section on this page.
INSTALLATION
- We will install and remove your Hurricane Shutters on 1st & 2nd stories.
- We ask that you have your shutters properly labeled as each window has a unique shutter placement.
- For removal, we will roll up your fabric shutters or vertically stack your metal shutters.
- We will keep all individual window shutters together, for easy future install.
- We will place your shutters in your designated storage area. Additional charge for attic storage.
- Multiple adjacent windows are not considered one singular window.

Install $10/pane. Removal: $8/pane
1st FLOOR
Install: $10/window. Removal: $8/window
2nd FLOOR
Install: $25/window. Removal: $20/window
Obstructed Windows (e.g. Pool Cage)
$10 additional cost. Completed at our discretion
BOLT RECAPPING (Customer provides caps)
$25 for all windows
VIP CLUB - Install & Removal
Servicing the greater Tampa & St. Petersburg areas. Get yourself ahead of the rest with our pre-booking option. Must be enrolled in VIP CLUB a minimum of 14 days before install.
How It Works:
- Schedule an in-person estimate.
- Prepay VIP CLUB prepaid deposit of $100 for one Install & Removal.
- Pay for your first Install when completed.
- The prepaid fee will be applied to your first Removal.
- You will be on our Priority "VIP CLUB" client list ahead of non-VIP clients.
- If hurricane shutter services are not needed through November 30th of the calendar year, you will have a $100 credit good through June 30 of the following calendar year.
- Credit can be applied to any of our Home Repair Services.

- Often used in a woven or coated form, polypropylene offers good resistance to weather and UV damage, with some versions being designed to allow some light and airflow while still blocking wind and rain

- Similar to Kevlar, like that used in bulletproof vests.
- These are extremely strong and lightweight, offering superior impact resistance

PRO TIPS - Hurricane Shutters
- Use a P3 size Phillips head. Avoid using P1 or P2 size as it will strip your bolt heads.
- No need to remove the bolts fully, just loosen them enough to slide your shutters on.
- When shutters are removed, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN when screwing heads against wall.
- Use a Driver versus a Drill. Short bursts to reduce risk of over-tightening.
- Tired of stripped bolts, try Hex head or Star head bolts for anti-stripping. We recommend star head as their lower profile is aesthetically pleasing.
- Typically your bolts are 1/4"-20. The 1/4" is the bolt diameter, the 20 is the amount of threads per inch. Length can vary.
- 304 stainless steel for strong corrosion resistance in outdoor conditions. For coastal areas with high salt exposure, opt for 316 stainless steel. Zinc plated would be the next step down.
- If you are looking to have replaced, let us know. We provide all materials with removal and install.
- Use Heavy duty Stainless Steel vs Galvanized steel wingnuts as they are stronger and the "wings" are less likely to break off.
- You should be able to install and remove by hand. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
- If you choose to use a power tool with a wing nut socket, make sure the socket aka "wing nut driver" is on straight.
- Use a Driver versus a Drill. Short bursts to reduce risk of over-tightening.
- If properly done, you should be able to remove wing nuts by hand.
- If wing nuts are stuck, use vice grips to get it started, careful not to break wings.
- Store your wing nuts with your shutters. Do not leave outdoors.
- Cap the bolts when shutters are not on.
- If you are looking to have replaced, let us know. We provide all materials with removal and install.
- Be sure your shutters are numbered or clearly labeled.
- Keep a map of shutter placement with your shutter wing nuts and shutters.
- Ensure accessibility to windows. Keep bushes, hedges, trees, etc trimmed.
- Have a functional wireless garage door keypad or door lock keypad for access to where your shutters are stored in case you are not home.
- Enroll in our VIP CLUB for peace of mind.
